It was perfect: internet in the room, a haven for focusing on my book, and outside were great cafés (especially Neues Ufer, David Bowie's old favourite), easy transport to Potsdamer Platz for the Staatsbibliothek, Sony Center, etc. There are also two 24-hour Spätkaufs a five-minute walk up Hauptstrasse if you need a drink at 2 am. Mac users: Deinmac, run by helpful English-speaking Julian Kwan, is just across the street.”
